We are searching for our office in Bamberg or Berlin for a:

Senior Development Manager (m/f/divers)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Managing multiple existing development teams mastering several technology stacks with mainly Java and PHP as the foundation
  • plan and work for team growth considering the blend/level of skills required within team
  • Managing and developing a company development and architecture strategy and roadmap together with respective leaders from the business side
  • Coordinating and negotiating datacenter related contracts and terms along with budget planning to meet the scalability demands of a constantly growing eCommerce platform
  • drive the strategic direction of our products & services taking into account emerging and legacy Technologies
  • to oversee strategy for both product and bespoke code base platform definition and implementation
  • To devise a tactical plan which can be collaboratively carried out by the team – to implement improvements to our products, services, processes and knowledge sharing within the Team
  • facilitate the smooth delivery of all projects, enhancements and support delivered by the Team
  • facilitate technology and methodology decision making throughout team, including standardisation of system architecture, reusable code base development, versions of software tools, best practice, source control and deployment processes
  • instigate cross team ideas and initiatives – bringing products and services together

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

  • A senior level software developer with strong and successful technical lead experience
  • BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related subject – or equal work experience
  • Experience of managing, directing and motivating staff to deliver projects with stretching scope and objectives
  • Highly numerate and literate, with the ability to produce top quality written specifications and strategy and implementation communication
  • experience in reviewing and auditing legacy code bases as well as making decisions on improving those technology bases
  • fundamental understanding of internet technologies and their applications
  • datacenter management, monitoring and cloud provider administration experience (OpenStack, AWS, Docker and alike)
  • experience in managing high-scalable, high-available websites under peak loads during releases and campaigns
